Allyson and Alex Grey with models for future CoSM architecture
Happy New Year 2008, the year we start our blog! THE BEST YEAR EVER!
We wanted to share the concept for the Chapel architecture. Models of the future Chapel are now on view at MicroCoSM Gallery link (542 W. 27th St., NYC) where Alex's exhibition of New Works is extended through Feb. 2nd.
The Chapel architecture appears in the negative space between two faces in the sky. From every point of view on the grounds of this circular structure, observers witness the profiles of two spirit faces, their third eyes kissing at the spire. The entryway pavilion on the ground level is a wheel of lotus column Godheads. Between the Godheads nestle smaller temple shaped replicas, with profiles that mirror the larger Sky Godheads. The architecture houses the Sacred Mirrors, and is itself a giant recursive fractal sculpture of beings inside of beings, ultimately embraced by the celestial presence whose profile defines the sacred space.
"When beings come together in Oneness they create sacred space."

UPDATE ON CoSM PROPERTY
Here's an update on our progress toward building the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
We are still negotiating buying a property 60 miles north of New York City. With the help of a bank loan and numerous generous supporters we will have that money at the closing. It is our intention to have the closing before March 2008. If all goes well, we will spend the rest of the year designing and building out an existing structure that will accommodate the CoSM collection of artwork. December 2008 our lease at 542 W. 27th Street will end and we will move the exhibition into it's new home.
Way before CoSM in the country officially opens, volunteers will be invited to join us for workparty weekends where, as a community, we will garden, mow, clean, paint, sand and do all that needs to be done to care for the beautiful property and structures. Volunteers will also be treated to meals and Saturday night entertainment. Stay tuned as spring approaches for more information about how to play.

I'm 22 currently. When I was about 8-12 my mom brought me to weekend getaways in upstate new york where groups of adults would gather and release human emotions in a controlled atmosphere in hopes to progress prosperously through doing so. I saw the picture of the upstairs attic room and suddenly had childhood flashbacks of the events all of which were very positive. This is metaphoric art work coming from my perspective. This location being only 25-30 minutes from me I'd LOVE to help anyway I can, and be apart of this beautiful growth of the culture I was raised based on. The Ananda Ashram in Harriman, n.y. Loves hosting existence appreciation and there grounds are beautiful. If you looking for welcoming upstatey locations you should check it out. Hopefully I'll be at the cosm tomorrow, the 26th can't wait! !Rock on!

PS- Thanks for supporting Kucinich! We all fought a good fight and let's hope he keeps his seat in Congress. He's the most progressive thinking politician I've ever seen!
