Obama Orb

Alan Steinfeld, the host of New Realities website and Television show, took this photo of the Obama painting on the full moon, November 13 at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. Alan tells us, "Some say orbs are the presence of non-physical beings who are here at this time to usher in an opening between the dimensions. If they have been showing up in your digital photos it is a good sign. It means you are not alone and that there is some higher powers behind you or beside you."

Dear CoSM friend,

On Allyson's birthday last year, I had a vision of a new design for the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors with features of both ancient sacred temples and futuristic fractal architecture. Within 24 hours of this epiphany, I discovered at findthedivine.com, an interfaith retreat center for sale that exquisitely satisfied my vision for land on which to build the Chapel.  Within a month, on Earth Day, Allyson and I drove 65 miles from Manhattan to visit this extraordinary wooded property, and were greeted by two turkeys doing a mating dance in the driveway. We knew we had found the new and permanent site for CoSM.

This past September, after intense and protracted negotiations, we finalized the purchase of CoSM's new home.  The site will be called CoSM Art Sanctuary and is dedicated to love, wisdom and creative renewal.

Driven by the momentum of destiny in this unique time, we see the cosmos as a manifestation of spirit and all sacred traditions as gifts contributing to the legacy of human culture.  It has long been our dream to build sacred space that enshrines this unitive perspective.  Living in an era of seismic shifts, we move toward a planetary civilization, a new possibility of world peace, wisdom and environmental reclamation, revisioning our relationship with nature.

For five years, visitors from all over the world have made the pilgrimage to  CoSM, co-creating sacred space in New York City.  This new site in the woods will brilliantly provide for our community, offering the  the Sacred Mirrors collection and a core curriculum of Art as a Spiritual Practice, surrounded by tranquil restorative beauty.

Our goal in the next six months is to raise $500,000 to reopen the exhibition and prepare CoSM Sanctuary for overnight and daily visitors.

Douglas Trumbull visits CoSM

Douglas Trumbull, the special effects wizard behind the extraordinary science fiction films 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Andromeda Strain, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Blade Runner, among many others, visited the Chapel and discussed his experiences working with Kubrick and directing his own major films, Silent Running and Brainstorm.

David Wolfe at CoSM

David Wolfe, world authority on chocolate, raw food nutrition, superfoods, herbal healing and having the best day ever, has offered two programs at CoSM, both to packed audiences. Author of Amazing Grace, Naked Chocolate, Eating for Beauty, and The Sunfood Diet Success System, David's company www.sunfood.com, develops, markets and distributes some of the world's most wonderful exotic organic food items. Alex and Allyson Grey began eating primarily raw food about 18 months ago and have become advocates of the diet. Eating live food gives us vitality and clarity and we plan to explore a vegan and raw food menu at the new CoSM Sanctuary.

Dr. Gabriel Cousins visits CoSM

Gabriel Cousens, rabbi and doctor of both medicine and divinity, truly a physician of the soul, graced CoSM with a visit. Gabriel is founder and director of Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Arizona where thousands of people have learned to heal themselves and live better lives. He left us a copy of his fascinating documentary "Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days." This well made film chronicles six Americans with diabetes who leave their loved ones for a month to heal a disease considered incurable by the AMA, by simply eating a diet of raw food and free from meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food.
