Erotic Art at CoSM

On January 11, the Burning Angels returned to CoSM and spent the evening striking sizzling erotic poses for a multitude of entranced artists.  Organized by Alex Zoppa, Mitch Fontaine and Joanna Angel's group of adult film stars featured at burningangels.com the energy was provocative and amazingly positive.  This was the line your models in art school never crossed.  Playboy put it on their blog. Andrew Cohen and Alex Grey on Creativity

Alexandrew

A brief taste of the evening was posted on youtube

Posted on What Is Enlightenment's media rich website is a video of The Creative Impulse in Life, Art, and Consciousness, a conversation between spiritual leader Andrew Cohen and Alex Grey held at CoSM on New Years Eve. What is Enlightenment

  Here's how WIE describes it:
"To ring in the New Year, Grey and WIE founder Andrew Cohen spoke to a packed, enthusiastic house about a passion central to both of their lives—creativity. Far more than just a consideration of the arts and culture, their dialogue took flight into a mind-expanding exploration of the creative principle as a fundamental force of life and the cosmos. This forty-minute conversation is fueled by Grey’s lifelong commitment to reanimating the arts with spiritual significance and Cohen’s twenty-one-year career as a pioneering spiritual teacher and cultural philosopher. Together they speak about the evolution of life and consciousness, the unruliness of the creative process, and the extreme materialism of much of contemporary art. And along the way, they make it very clear that the human capacity for imagination and innovation resides in all of us and is the key to foreseeing—and creating—a new and enlightened culture."

LA CoSM Benefit party, "Net of Being"

Lecture The LA CoSM Benefit party, "Net of Being", was an extraordinary
outpouring of love and creative energy from area artists, DJs, VJs,
and the community.  In downtown L.A., Club 740 is a venue with a
colorful history that includes performances by Charlie Chaplin and
parties hosted by Prince.  An illustrated talk started off the CoSM
Benefit evening,  addressing the concept of "Anthropocosm", the
inclusion of the human form in sacred spaces of many cultures.   Grey
proposes that art can model a new topology of being, offering a
transformed self-shape, or psychomorphology, for our identity.   "Net
of Being" is a figurative symbol of the infinite interconnected
continuum of Godselves.  Grey's talk also introduced the unique
temple design for the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
