LA CoSM Benefit party, "Net of Being"
The LA CoSM Benefit party, "Net of Being", was an extraordinary
outpouring of love and creative energy from area artists, DJs, VJs,
and the community. In downtown L.A., Club 740 is a venue with a
colorful history that includes performances by Charlie Chaplin and
parties hosted by Prince. An illustrated talk started off the CoSM
Benefit evening, addressing the concept of "Anthropocosm", the
inclusion of the human form in sacred spaces of many cultures. Grey
proposes that art can model a new topology of being, offering a
transformed self-shape, or psychomorphology, for our identity. "Net
of Being" is a figurative symbol of the infinite interconnected
continuum of Godselves. Grey's talk also introduced the unique
temple design for the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
Painters Alex Grey, Allyson Grey, Guy Aichison, Michele Wortman, Chet
Zar, and Corey Miller from the t.v. program, L.A. INK, painted
throughout the evening. DJ's and musicians included Nada and Ash, Sirene and Ryan, Alien Ambassador, Satchi Ohm, and Trevor from Moontribe.
